Mobile Crisis

Mobile crisis refers to emergency mental health and crisis intervention services delivered directly to individuals in their communities rather than requiring them to come to a facility. Mobile crisis teams typically consist of trained mental health professionals—such as counselors, social workers, nurses, or crisis specialists—who respond rapidly to people experiencing psychiatric emergencies, severe emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, or behavioral health crises. These teams travel to wherever the person is located, whether at home, school, work, or in public spaces, providing immediate assessment, de-escalation, stabilization, and connection to appropriate follow-up care. Mobile crisis services aim to provide timely, compassionate intervention in familiar environments while reducing unnecessary emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and involvement of law enforcement in mental health situations.
